RSS Feed? What d'ya mean?

In that last post about boring yard work, I mentioned RSS.  Now you are asking "What is RSS?"

RSS - stands for Really Simple Syndication.  See the Wikipedia article on RSS for the technical and boring details.  It is one of those things that I understand - but not enough to explain it to you.

What it means for you - the one and only reader of our blog - is that you can read the postings here without even typing http//brianmick.blogspot.com.

The first thing you need to do is to get a feed-reader.  There are many freeware programs out there - I haven't really tried any so I can't give a recommendation.  Google does offer a version caller Reader, that some people like, and some don't.  Yahoo also offers a version - you can create individual RSS feed boxes on your customized page at Yahoo if you do that...  Both of these require an account - but is this day - who doesn't have an account at once of these search giants.

From Yahoo - if you select Personalize this page and select Add RSS Feed - just paste this URL - http://brianmick.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss - into the box and click Add.  You'll be rewarded with The Adventures of Mick & Brian right on your Yahoo page!

Google's Reader web app is similar, though it allows you to manage multiple RSS feeds together.  Though - it is quirky...

So - let us know.  Are you coming direct to the Blogger source, or are you taking the RSS shortcut?  Let us know how you get your Adventures!
