Yard Work 2008 #10

June 12, 2008 - our first day of summer. Today the temperature actually got above 70°. Early in the week we had temps in the 40° and very stormy and windy weather.
So - today was lawn mowing number 10. I worked a little on the blade with a whetstone - but I really need to get that dremel working. It sharpens the blade in no time flat.
Checking the weather for tomorrow and the weekend - it looks perfect for the Tigard Festival of Balloons. The wind even seems to be coming out of the north - which is what we need to get the balloons to land in our backyard. Here are some shots from 2006. Last year, 2007, the wind was blowing from the northeast rather hard - so they didn't launch Friday and Saturday. I think they did launch Sunday....but I can't really remember. And I don't have any photos - so maybe they didn't.

Balloons taking off from Cook Park - about three miles north of us

Landing on the soccer field...uh, maybe not...

Not landing by us...continuing south over Tualatin Elementary

Landing on the soccer field - yes!
